A TEAM EFFORT

Kelly OneilKelly Oneil, Physical Therapist, Owner

Kelly received her Physical Therapy degree in 2001 from the University of Miami, FL. Since that time she has worked in a variety of Physical Therapy settings, leading to the inception of her own clinic in 2004, Bodies in Balance Physical Therapy.

"Having my own clinic enables me to implement one-on-one care for optimal patient recovery. Treatments begin with listening to the patient & understanding their goals, followed by a thorough assessment resulting in an accurate diagnosis. Patients are then education on their injury and the work ahead. Here in the clinic, we utilize manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, modalities (ultrasound, whirlpool, electrical stimulation, ice), for thorough care."

Outside of the clinic Kelly provides injury prevention programs and proper training techniques for all levels of athletes including local sports teams (American Youth Soccer Clubs) to professionals (USA Men's & Women's Beach Volleyball team, FIVB World Championships, Gstaad Switzerland).

Pilates

Lisa WahlanderLisa Wahlander

Lisa first discovered the benefits of Pilates while earning her B.A. in Dance from UCLA. After taking time off from dance to work on Nickelodeon's animated television series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, she relied on Pilates to get back into shape and to help rehabilitate her lower back. She decided to further her training at Pilates Sports Center in Encino, receiving her Pilates certification under the guidance of Kelli Altunian and Andromeda Trumbull. Lisa brings her passion for anatomy, alignment, and movement into her teaching and is intent upon helping her clients feel good in their bodies.

Alisa MichelleAlisa Michelle

I began my dance career in the professional training program at The School of Toronto Dance Theater.

In 2002 (until 2007) I founded the Company Mecanique Dance Theater. During that time I discovered Pilates, studying with Sagrario Castilla, Rucsandra Mitrea & Diane Miller. Later, relocated and commuting to San Francisco, I further studied Pilates with Ellie Herman completing her certification program.

Teaching Pilates for the last 10 years, I have experience with both elite athletes to injury rehabilitation. Also, as a fitness professional and ex-professional dancer I have watched Pilates change the bodies of my clients and colleagues and believe it is effective for back health, posture as well as conditioning the entire body.

Massage Therapists

CJCJ

CJ studied Eastern and Western techniques in order to address muscular dysfunction found in tissue, fascia and skin. Her massage skills include Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger points, circulatory and acupressure. Using appropriate manual techniques, pain caused by irritated tissue is decreased by releasing entrapped blood vessels and nerves. Her overall purpose of massage is to produce a positive therapeutic outcome on muscular, nervous, lymphatic and respiratory systems.

Brett StumpBrett Stumpp

Brett Stumpp began training in massage and the mind-body-spirit connection at the Institute of Psycho-Structural Balancing. He continued his studies in eastern forms of massage and traditional Chinese medicine, concentrating on Shiatsu-anma by enrolling in the Shiatsu Massage School of California. Currently he is apprenticing with third generation Scottish Osteopath Hugh Milne in Visionary Cranial Sacral therapy.
